De Centrale Boekhandel has been organising Book Festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium for more than twenty-five years. Our loyal customers are familiar with our concept but this isn’t the case for every booklover. To inform you about this unique free fair you can find more information about the Book Festival here.
 

Who is behind the Book Festival?
The Book Festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium are organised by De Centrale Boekhandel.
 
Is there an entrance fee?
No, the entrance to the Book Festival is free of charge. However, the parking facility may charge you for parking your car.
 
How can the products be that cheap?
We purchase the books directly from publishers at home and abroad and sell them straight to you. Occasionally the books may be slightly damaged or from a previous edition. The acquisition of our stock is based on 25 years of experience. This means that discounts can go up to 90%.
 
Is it possible to stay informed about the Book Festival?
Yes, it is possible to receive an invitation in advance. However, we only send invitations in Dutch. If you would like to receive an invitation in Dutch please register here.
 
Is it possible to get information about available titles?
It is not possible to get information about titles by telephone or email due to daily stock changes. However, at the Book Festival there is an information desk where you can search for books by title, author, entry or ISBN.
 
How can I get a coupon for a free book?
If you register with us you will receive an invitation (Dutch language) at home containing a coupon for a free book.
 
Is it possible to buy books on the internet or make a reservation?
It is not possible to buy or reserve books on the internet. Our primary activities are organising the Book Festivals and selling books to wholesalers. Customers are always welcome at our Book Festivals.
 
What is the difference between Thursday and the other days at the Book Festival?
Thursday is a presale day for guests and press including our loyal customers who receive an invitation. Every who knows about this day is more than welcome. Would you like to receive an invitation? Please register here.
 
What methods of payment are available at the Book Festival?
At the cash desk you can pay cash or use a bank card. We also accept credit cards exept American Express. Unfortunately we do not accept book tokens. 
 
Will there be refreshments available at the Book Festival?
Yes, there is always a caterer present selling beverages and snacks.
 
Is there plenty of parking space at the Book Festival?
Yes, the parking facilities are sufficient. Please note that the parking facilities may charge you for parking. Every Book Festival can easily be reached by public transport.
 
What do I do with a complaint about one of my purchases?
Please return to the same Book Festival with the item with the price sticker on it and your receipt. If this is not possible, please send us an email containing your complaint, the title, ISBN and publisher together with a copy of the receipt. Your complaint will resolved as soon as possible.
 
Can I work at the Book Festival?
Of course you can! The Book Festival works with temporary employees to make the fair run as smoothly as possible. Are you available for work during the whole week of the Book Festival or part of that week? Please send an email with your name, phone number and available dates to jobs@boekenfestijn.com
